THE SACRED VEIL
A work in 12 movements for chorus, cello and piano by Eric Whitacre.

Eric Whitacre and his longtime friend and collaborator, poet Charles Anthony Silvestri, have created their most expansive work to date - The Sacred Veil. The piece explores the fragile lines between birth, love, life and loss. This poignant human story (one that so many of us can relate to) is a delicate, beautiful and emotional work which charts Silvestri falling in love with his wife, the birth of their children and her loss to cancer at the age of 36. It uses text written by him, by the composer and the words of his late wife, Julie.
We will be joined once again by RNS cellist Gabriel Waite and pianist Len Young. The concert lasts one hour with no interval.
